Lou Bruska

Lou Bruska has been a sailor for forty years. He and his wife, Laurel, bought their first boat in 1978, and started racing. Since 2003 they've been cruising on their Catalina 36 out of Holland, MI.

With 40+ years of sailing experience on the Great Lakes as a racer and a cruiser, and after 15 Chicago-Mac races and countless buoy races,Lou now devotes his time to cruising.   He’s a member of the Great Lake Cruising Club and is the chairman of the GLCC's Harbor Reports Committee and a GLCC Webinar Instructor for the past three years.  He actively cruises Lake Michigan and Lake Huron, in 2014 completed 1325 nm trip to Lake Erie and back from his home port in Holland, MI. Past cruises included trips to the North Channel, multiple cruises along both coasts of Lake Michigan and into Grand Traverse Bay and down the Lake Huron shore.
