Robert and Virginia Gleser have been cruising the Pacific Coast for the past sixteen years aboard Harmony, their Islander Freeport 40.' In October of 2000 they threw off the dock lines and sailed from San Francisco under the Golden Gate Bridge taking the proverbial left and turned south to explore Mexico, Central America and then on to Ecuador in South America. They have been married for forty-five years and have eight children and six grandchildren. Currently they sail in Mexico for half of each year, returning to their other life ashore to be with family in California during the off-season. Virginia has published "Harmony on the HIgh Seas, When Your Mate Becomes Your Matey" to rave reviews.
