Lou Bruska’s years of sailing on Lake Michigan and Marilyn Kinsey’s expertise and years of sailing Green Bay and the region provide a unique insight to sailing from Mackinac Bridge to Escanaba.  It doesn’t need to be a long boring slog.  While this presentation is aimed primarily at the non-Lake Michigan Club members planning to attend the 2024 Rendezvous in Escanaba, Michigan; it gives those Southern Lake Michigan folks coming to the Rendezvous a glimpse of the ports and anchorages in Northern Lake Michigan.  Depending on your boat and cruising choices the trip could take 2-4 days or longer, if you have time and inclination to properly cruise the region.  Remember: getting there and having fun is as important as arriving!

Meet The Instructor

Marilyn Kinsey
Marilyn Kinsey has nearly a lifetime of sailing experience, much of which involved exploring Green Bay and Northern Lake Michigan from her home port in Escanaba, Michigan. Marilyn is the Port Captain for Escanaba Harbor, M-101.
Lou Bruska
Lou Bruska has been a sailor for fifty years. He and his wife, Laurel, bought their first boat in 1978, and started racing. Since 2003 they've been cruising on their Catalina 36 out of Holland, MI.
