Bill Rohde

Body
GLCCSchool Assistant Coordinator and former Great Lakes Cruising Club Director, Bill Rohde, is a lifelong cruiser. For years he and his wife Judy cruised under sail, most recently on a 42' Tayana Pilothouse Cutter. They recently purchased a Legacy 40 Sedan Cruiser for the next chapter of their cruising adventures.

Bill and Judy have extensively cruised Lake Superior and its Canadian northern and eastern wilderness shores from their western Lake Superior home port of Bayfield, Wisconsin. In earlier years they also cruised the upper Mississippi and St. Croix rivers. More recently their cruising world aboard the Jubilee, their 42' Pilothouse Cutter, expanded to the other four Great Lakes, the Canadian Maritimes, the US eastern seaboard, the Bahamas and the eastern Caribbean (for more information click Adventures of the Jubilee).

Bill has also completed two Caribbean 1500 rallies (Chesapeake to the Virgin Islands non-stop), assisted with several coastal deliveries, and chartered numerous times in the Caribbean.

Recently the Rohdes sold their beloved Tayana 42 PH Cutter and purchased a Legacy 40 Sedan Cruiser, aboard which they hope to further explore both new-to-them and long time favorite Great Lakes harbors, especially those nestled along the northern Canadian wilderness shores of Lake Superior, the North Channel and Georgian Bay.

Bill also served for several years as a member of the GLCC Board of Directors and was the founder of GLCCSchool, where he continues to serve as one of the assistant coordinators.
