Body
Roy Eaton is "The Voice of the North Channel" on VHF radio's "Little Current Cruisers' Net". Roy and his wife Margaret sailed their boat, Mystic Loon, for 36 years through all of the Great Lakes and beyond, as far as the Bahamas.

If you have ever cruised the North Channel of Lake Huron, you've no doubt heard about the Little Current Cruisers’ Net. The founder and Net Controller for the past twelve seasons is Roy Eaton, known as ‘the Voice of the North Channel’. Each morning during July and August, on VHF Channel 71 at 9 a.m., boaters throughout the North Channel tune in to hear the latest marine weather, news and events across the North Channel.

Roy and his wife Margaret have sailed all the Great Lakes. After retirement as Principal of Manitoulin Secondary School, they sailed on a nine-month cruise taking them from Little Current, down the ICW to Florida and across the Gulf Stream to spend 3 months exploring the Abacos.

Roy was awarded a Lifetime Membership in the America’s Great Loop Cruising Association and an Honorary Membership in the Great Lakes Cruising Club for his contributions to the boating community. He was the first recipient of an Honorary Membership in the Trailer/Sailors Association. The Safe Boating Council of Canada honoured Roy as Volunteer of the Year for his contributions to safe boating.
