Great Lakes Weather 1: Marine Weather Basics

Body
Marine Weather Basics is the first class in the GLCC School’s four-part Marine Weather Essentials series tailored for Great Lakes boaters and offered for either individual or specially priced package registration.

Becoming a weather savvy boater requires familiarity with a few basic physical and meteorological principles. To the untrained eye, weather maps contain a confusing array of symbols, timekeeping systems, and other meteorological shorthand. The first webinar in the series will explain a few basic atmospheric principles and offer the skills needed to understand and interpret a wide variety of weather maps. Whether you cruise, race, fish, paddle, or simply enjoy spending your leisure time on the water you will find the marine weather basics covered in this class invaluable.
